Russell Odegard

Russell Odegard is an executive with more than 30 years of experience in the medical-diagnostic, life sciences, and pharmaceutical industries. In his career, he has launched more than 700 products globally, led multi-functional teams, and executed effective quality improvement processes.

In 2003 Mr. Odegard co-founded St. Louis–based DYNALABS, one of the fastest growing analytical lab testing services in the US, where he currently serves as co-CEO. As part of the company’s executive team, he is responsible for its strategic direction, which emphasizes identifying, developing, and launching services that are centered on helping hospital and compounding pharmacies surpass their patient safety goals.

Prior to his time at DYNALABS, Mr. Odegard worked in research, product development, and quality management at enterprises such as Sigma-Aldrich, a chemical, life science, and biotechnology company owned by Merck KGaA, and Sigma Diagnostics, a medical diagnostics company. Mr. Odegard began his career in the life sciences industry working as a research scientist at the University of Alberta’s J.S. McEachern Cancer Research Unit.

Mr. Odegard is a frequent speaker on topics that impact¬¬ the compounding industry and has presented at the annual meetings of the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists (IACP)—Compounders on Capitol Hill and the Compound Conference—and at meetings of the California Pharmacists Association and the California Council for the Advancement of Pharmacy.

Mr. Odegard is a member of the Financial Advisory Board of the University of Missouri in St. Louis and is often invited to speak to students at local academic institutions: Washington University, St. Louis College of Pharmacy, Fontbonne University, and the University of Missouri.

He received his bachelor of science degree in microbiology at the University of Alberta in Canada and his master’s degree in business administration at the University of Missouri, St. Louis.

Michael Pruett

Michael Pruett co-founded DYNALABS with a vision to help improve patient outcomes. As co-CEO, Pruett has helped the company surpass its business goals through innovative process development and the use of leading-edge technology. Today DYNALABS is one of the fastest growing analytical testing labs in the Midwest.  Pruett leads the legal, regulatory, and administrative functions of the company.  He also manages investor relations and capital acquisitions.

Prior to co-founding DYNALABS, Pruett worked as an independent management consultant, where he specialized in helping clients uncover new approaches to maximizing performance.  He has held management positions in small start-up companies and large corporations, including Sigma-Aldrich, a chemical, life science, and biotechnology company now owned by Merck KGaA.  Pruett began his career in healthcare working in both retail and hospital pharmacy settings.  He holds four patents, one of which is for a pharmaceutical delivery device marketed worldwide.

Pruett has been a guest speaker at a number of leading St. Louis institutions:  St. Louis College of Pharmacy, The University of Missouri at St. Louis, St. Louis University, the Danforth Plant Science Center, and St. Patrick Center, which provides opportunities for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.  He received his BS in Pharmacy from St. Louis College of Pharmacy and his MBA from Webster University in St. Louis.

Jun Fabella

As President and Managing Partner of DYNALABS, Jun Fabella is charged with executing the company’s vision of a future where healthcare partners can rely on DYNALABS for all their comprehensive lab testing needs.

Fabella truly understands the unique value proposition DYNALABS provides. As a member of the company’s initial start-up team in 2003, he participated in crafting the company’s mission and vision. He also led the technical design, development, and implementation of the customer website, and developed the initial go-to-market strategy. Fabella was recruited away from DYNALABS shortly after its market launch but rejoined the company in 2014 as its Chief Technology Officer. In 2017, he was promoted to President.

With more than 20 years’ experience in business technology, Fabella has built a reputation for astute business insights and strong leadership skills. He is an innovator with a knack for reinventing business solutions. Fabella has the ability to identify technical and business trends across industries, and then translate these trends into solutions that drive measurable financial results for clients and stakeholders.

Fabella honed his leadership skills working for various industry leaders:  Monsanto Chemical Company as its International Market Development Manager; Computer Science Corporation, Senior Management Consultant; Ameren Corporation, Business Consultant for Special Projects; RxSpace by Dynasoft, Director of Business Development; Maritz Motivation Solutions, Global Solutions Director; and IDEAH! as Managing Partner.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at Missouri Science and Technology in Rolla and his Master’s in Business Administration at Webster University in St. Louis, MO.

With more than 30 years of experience in finance, operations, and human resources management, Steve Crouse joined DYNALABS in 2016. Steve, a seasoned, results-oriented leader and team builder, has experience in building, strengthening, and leading organizations to success in competitive environments.

Steve has a proven track record of success when working with fast-growing companies; he especially enjoys guiding a company through the intricacies of debt management and providing financial insight during long-term strategic planning.

Prior to working at DYNALABS, Steve worked at various companies, including Lanter Distributing, True North Group LLC, The Foreign Candy Co. Inc., and Allparts Inc. He held roles as Vice President – Controller, Vice President of Finance and Operations, Principal Consultant, and Director of Finance. Steve is known for his profit maximization by getting results through operational efficiencies, supportive financial reporting, and effective negotiation skills. He demonstrates the ability to make improvements in profitability, cash flow, inventory levels, operational efficiencies, and teamwork.

Steve received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and an MBA Finance from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.

Tim Johnson

Tim Johnson became part of the DYNALABS team in 2014 as a consultant. He officially joined DYNALABS in January 2018. Tim has over 23 years of experience managing IT companies. He brings to DYNALABS experience that includes a strategic focus in aligning IT initiatives with overall corporate business objectives. Tim exceeds measures of effectiveness through strategic planning, monitoring, and reporting of key metrics.

As CTO, Tim will continue to manage the IT functions of the company as well as the IT team at DYNALABS. He will oversee the day-to-day functions as well as contributing to long-range planning with senior leadership to ensure effective strategic planning and growth in application development.

Prior to working at DYNALABS, Tim has been Manager, Professional Services at TecSrv since 2014. He was accountable for leadership, coordination, and management of multiple IT projects. His experience has involved hands-on participation in solution design and solution implementation, as well as providing support and oversight of project performance. He was project manager with responsibilities, including oversight and management of the IT project portfolio, including investment analysis, implementation, application development, and modernization, as well as solution design and proof of concept planning for infrastructure migration to cloud-based storage. Tim also has held roles as Director of Managed Services and President at several different companies.

Tim holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Ill.

Bill Russell joined DYNALABS in 2017. With over 20 years of sales and marketing experience, Bill develops and drives sales in diverse business industries. He directs key initiatives, always ensuring alignment and collaboration among sales, technical, and operations staff to maximize sales results.

As Vice President of Sales of DYNALABS, Bill manages the sales team, which consists of regional business managers and customer support specialists. He oversees and coordinates activities of the sales team to achieve objectives and goals that follow our guiding principles. Bill contributes to long-range planning with senior leadership to ensure revenue, market share growth, and profitability.

Prior to working at DYNALABS, Bill worked at Wacker Chemical Company, a global chemical company active in silicone, polymer, fine chemicals, polysilicon, and semiconductor markets, where he drove sales and development. Bill was instrumental in increasing annual sales through implementing cost-effective methods, identifying a niche in the industry, and new business development. Bill has a skill for identifying industry needs and targeting them. He has held positions such as sales manager, global key account manager, market development manager, and marketing manager. Bill began his career at Monsanto in a variety of positions in sales, manufacturing, and engineering.

Bill holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Webster University in St. Louis.

Kris Le

Kris Le

Kris joins DYNALABS with a wealth of experience and knowledge. He has held various roles in our industry, including licensed pharmacist and the Director of 503B Operations. Kris has experience in sterile and non-sterile compounding, developing SOPs and formulas as related to the compounding of sterile and non-sterile products, ensuring pharmacy compliance of state regulations and laws as well as USP <795> and USP <797> guidelines, assisting in the development of equipment/process validation programs, performing GAP analysis/audits to ensure cGMP and/or USP <797> compliance, initiation and maintenance of quality systems, and many other duties.

Kris began his career as Operations Manager/Pharmacists with Heartland Pharmacy, and as part of the Clinical Staff of Florida Hospital Heartland. He moved on to work at PharmaLabs, where he specialized in High Risk Sterile Compounding. Most recently, Kris was Director of 503B Operations/Pharmacist-in-Charge of Nephron Outsourcing Facility. Under his leadership, Nephron Outsourcing Facility became the first 503B facility to receive no 483 observations upon inspection. During this time, Kris held the title of Clinical Assistant Professor at these universities: the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, NOVA Southeastern University College of Pharmacy, University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy, and South University College of Pharmacy.

Kris received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. He maintains pharmacist licensing in Alabama, Maryland, Florida, South Carolina, West Virginia, Tennessee, Michigan, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

Nichole DiLoretta

Nichole joined DYNALABS in August 2017 as Director of Quality & Regulatory Affairs, Nichole was responsible for daily operations as well as corporate projects related to quality and regulatory compliance. She was promoted to Vice President of Operations in November 2018.

Nichole has ten years of experience working in quality and management roles in pharmaceutical, medical device and food industries. Her experience includes quality management, product development, cGMP, SOPs, CAPA, OOS investigations, and ISO and USDA accreditation in highly regulated industries. She has worked extensively with pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality, product development, validations, and product specification. Nichole’s exceptional communication and analytical skills are driving DYNALABS’ quality assurance to the next level.

Nichole’s experience includes working at Deibel Laboratories as a Laboratory Manager, BioMérieux as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Pfizer as a Microbiology R&D Quality Senior Consultant, and Ronnoco as the Quality Assurance Manager.

Nichole received her Bachelor of Science in Biology, with an emphasis in Biochemistry from Southern Illinois University. She holds Forensic Science (Forensic Chemistry and Analysis) certification from Saint Louis University.

 

Dan Husted

Dan Husted

Senior Scientific Liaison

Dan began with DYNALABS in February of 2014. He is responsible multiple functions including onboarding CMO/CDMO/CRO prospects, qualifying and auditing ULH partners, ULH management, being the subject matter expert about regulations, and much more. Dan has over 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical testing techniques which include compendial assessments, wet chemistry, and routine sample analysis utilizing liquid and gas chromatography. His expertise is knowing and understanding the current regulatory state and being able to effectively communicate these requirements to customers.

Prior to working at DYNALABS, Dan worked at Alcami as the Supervisor of Chemistry and also at CSL Behring as an In-Process and Release Testing Analyst.

Dan received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois.

David Carson, Ph.D.

Scientific Adviser – Microbiology

David brings an abundance of experience and knowledge in microbiology and biotechnology to DYNALABS. His ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive technical programs to commercial success is unparalleled. In addition to his expertise in environmental process optimization and biotech and chemistry regulatory affairs, David also possesses a deep understanding of lab and full-scale technology development, cost reduction/capital avoidance, and risk assessment.

At DYNALABS, David serves as the lead scientific overseer for Microbiology. His responsibilities include establishing and refining scientific rationale for all microbiological analyses and procedures, as well as contributing and advising on process optimization initiatives.

David previously worked for Monsanto Biotechnology Regulatory and Monsanto Chemistry Process Technology, where he held many notable positions. His titles included Senior Research Microbiologist, Senior Research Specialist, Environmental Technology Team Lead, Microbial Ecology Lead, Environmental Toxicology/Biotechnology Lead, Crop Assessment Lead, and most recently, Environmental Process Specialist (2016-2017).

David received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forest Biology from the State University of New York, in Syracuse, NY.  His Ph.D. in Environmental Science and minor in Microbiology is from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, in Boston, MA. David wrote and contributed to many scientific publications from 1988 to 2015.

Katie Lampe

Katie began her career with DYNALABS in June 2013. She is responsible for continuous improvement initiatives and strives to maintain efficiency and quality within operations. Prior to her current position, Katie was the Chemistry manager. She has over 6 years of lab experience with extensive experience in liquid chromatography. She is trained on methods and equipment used in analytical, wet-bench, and microbiological testing for cGMP rules and regulations. Katie uses her laboratory knowledge to help improve productivity, reduce costs and make the best use of the business’s resources.

Katie is responsible for creating and revising standard operating procedures (SOP), assisting in resolutions for customer audit findings pertaining to current processes and working with departmental managers to improve organization and efficiency.

Prior to DYNALABS, Katie worked at Covidien as a Quality Control Chemist.

Katie received her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, University of Missouri-St. Louis. In 2011, she was awarded the Recipient of Aid to Education Chemistry Award.

Joseph Pruett

Joseph Pruett

Manager, Sample Management

Joe joined the DYNALABS team in December 2014 as a part of the Sales Team. In addition to his duties in the Sales Department, he was entrusted with the responsibility of building and entering formulas into the computer database. In 2015, Joe was promoted to Supervisor of Sample Management, where he worked diligently to organize and build a strong cohesive team that is responsible for the storing and management of customer samples. Joe and his team were instrumental in a successful barcoding transition, which vastly increased accountability and traceability. Joe was promoted to Manager of Sample Management in 2017.

Joe has over 30 years of experience as a staff pharmacist in both retail and hospital settings; as well as in Nuclear and Compounding Pharmacies. Joe aspires to continue moving forward, contributing to the growth and efficiency of Sample Management and DYNALABS as a collective body.

Prior to DYNALABS, Joe was a Registered Pharmacist at Trilogy Health Care, RPh-on-the-go, St. Anthony’s Medical Center, St. Louis Regional Medical Center, and Syncer Inc.

Joe graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree. He also received his Radiation Safety Officer certification from UCLA in 1984. When not in the professional work setting, Joe enjoys spending his time cooking for his wife and family.

Ashlynn joined DYNALABS in July 2015 as a Chemistry Analyst IV-Lead and has worked her way up to Quality Assurance Lead for Chemistry, OOS Investigations and Quality Manager, and was promoted to Senior Manager of Quality and Regulatory Affairs in November 2018.

In her role as Senior Manager, Ashlynn manages chemistry and microbiology quality assurance, out-of-specification and issues, and metrology. She is responsible for improving processes, creating procedures, tracking and trending quality metrics, maintaining deviation and CAPA databases, reviewing and approving SOP’s, as well as many other tasks to ensure the highest standards of quality.

Prior to working at DYNALABS, Ashlynn held different Chemistry and Quality positions at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, Vibrac Veterinary Pharmaceuticals, and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.

Ashlynn received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Integrated Biology from Southern Illinois University in 2012.

Chung Cheung

Chemistry Manager

Chung began her career with DYNALABS in April 2014. She is responsible for overseeing day to day Chemistry laboratory operations. Chung has 11 years of lab experience, and she has extensive experience in liquid chromatography. She is trained on methods and equipment used in analytical, and wet-chemistry, in accordance to cGMP rules and regulations. Chung ensures processes, procedures, and productivity is maintained at a consistent level of high performance within the Chemistry department.

Chung is responsible for the organization of samples throughput the Chemistry Lab from the date received to the date of completion. This includes scheduling for the chemistry lab, which consists of, but is not limited to, making sure all samples have the correct concentration, units, specification range, and salt form. Chung is also accountable for constant interdepartmental communication to ensure sample turn-around times are met.

Prior to DYNALABS, Chung worked at Hospita, Inc. and AAIPharma Analytical Services/Celsis Laboratory as an Analytical Chemist.

Chung graduated from Saint Louis University in Saint Louis, MO with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry.

Steve joined DYNALABS in October 2016 with more than 18 years of experience in human resources management.

Steve is a strategically driven human resources professional.  He has a solid background in multi-state and international human resources, talent management, talent acquisition, organizational development, HR legal compliance, employee relations and benefits, and compensation.

Steve has also worked at KASCO, LLC, LMI Aerospace, DRS Technologies, and Guardsmark, LLC.

Steve holds his Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and Masters of Science Degree in Human Resources Management and Development from National-Louis University in Chicago, IL
